By on January 7, 2023

Rising inflation continues to strain the family purse strings and stubbornly high prices have especially affected those who eat out.

McDonald’s Japan announced on the 6th that it will be raising the price of 80% of its food items on the menu by 10 to 150 yen.

This will be the 3rd price increase in the last 12 months to start on the 16th of January, 2023.

Despite its last price increase in September 2022, the spike in costs due to increase in electricity, salaries, transportation, etc. are putting a a dent on their operations.

Hamburgers will be raised from 150 yen to 170 yen. Less than a year ago, they were 110 yen. The price for single burgers, drinks, and burgers with drinks and side dishes will go up by 10 to 50 yen.

The 15-piece Chicken McNuggets now 590 yen will go up to 710 yen.  Some stores at airports, service areas will have different price increases.
