Belgium comes to Yamashita Park

By on April 16, 2024

Belgian Beer Weekend, Tokyo’s annual spring beer fest, boasts an impressive line up of 88 kinds and 13 types of Belgian beers for three straight days from May 16.

Dubbed as the fatherland of beers, Belgium’s brewing heritage dates back centuries. Brewers have constantly been innovating and experimenting with complex flavours using fruits and spices. The Belgian beer-making process is recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage.  The beer variety in this western European country ranges from pale lagers and Flemish red ales  to lambics and velvety stouts in different flavour profiles.

This event is not just for beer enthusiasts. Visitors can grab a plate or two of classic Belgian staples – from frites (Belgian fries) and frikandel (minced meat sausage), to boulettes de viande (meatballs) and 40 other kinds of food including the iconic waffles.
Take the kids along and have fun!
Although admission is free, guests are required to buy a set of coins for food and drinks. You can buy your starter set here for 3,500 yen by clicking ‘Yokohama’. That includes 10 food coins and 1 drink coin.
