Where to watch dancing sardines in Japan.

By on November 12, 2020

Hakkejima Sea Paradise in Yokohama is bringing in “Super Iwashirushon,” a sardine-themed event, to entertain pandemic-weary families throughout the coming holiday season.

Iwashirushon is a portmanteau of “iwashi” (sardines) and “illusion” .

Dancing sardines

Many of you will be forgiven for thinking that only dolphins dance. The fact is sardines have their own aerial moves, too.  See for yourself.  Check out these 50,000 dancing sardines as they make graceful leaps from an 8-meter tall aquarium. The dance accompanied by mesmerizing visual effects is guaranteed to entertain both the young and old.

A line up of Christmas-themed parades and performances can be enjoyed by the whole family brought to you by penguins, otters, prairie dogs, and South American sea lions at the Fureai Lagoon (petting lagoon).  Here’s the fun part – guests will be allowed to give special treats to animals during the holidays. Afterall, Christmas is about giving!
