Fuji-Q Highland’s new observation deck to give visitors a premium view of Mount Fuji

By on December 20, 2020

The roller coaster at Fuji Q Highland will be closed for renovation from around February 2021 to build a 1.07 billion yen ($10.4 million) sky deck next to the ride.

Up until now, only the staff had been able to watch the breathtaking view of Mt. Fuji from the rails.  But with the construction of the observation platform, the premium view will be open to all the Fuji Q Highland park visitors when the 55-meter high Fujiyama Sky Deck opens in the summer of 2021.

The structure is being built to coincide with Fujiyama’s 25th anniversary. Added features include the ‘Fujiyama Walk’, an open-air path where park visitors can safely move without handrails by wearing a harness, and the ‘Fujiyama slider’, a slide tube that will take guests from the sky deck to the ground level.
