Art rink at Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse

Rocking around the Christmas tree is not as fun as seeing stunning views of the Yokohama harbor while skating around this rink.  Now on its 19th run, Art Rink still remains to be Tokyo families’ top choice – for good reasons.

The Art Rink boasts a breathtaking view of the harbor and millions of artsy lights and holiday vendors. Not only does it offer winter skating and art lighting, the skating fee is also the cheapest in the city.

Just in case you end up taking the wrong skates size, you can vent your frustration at the Hot Hot Café close by! Early morning skating lessons are available once a week for those in need of perfecting their triple axel. For those who fancy some Chinese meal after skating, don’t forget that Chinatown is just a hobble away.

Mitsui Fudosan Ice Rink (formerly known as Roppongi’s MIDTOWN ICE RINK) has been a favorite among expat families with young children. If you have kids who haven’t experienced ice skating in their life, on-site instructors will be happy to see that you do for just 700 yen.

Gold is the color theme for the entire Midtown complex this season. Don’t be surprised to find the skating rink surrounded by trees with elaborate gold led lights. They’re all part of the magic!

Not used to skating in cold? A heated rest area within the skating rink offers some relief to other members of the family who prefer to just sit in a corner and watch. Just grab a hot chocolate on the way.
