‘Shaun the Sheep with Wallace and Gromit’ Movie Festival

If you are looking for a good family show, one that truly entertains from adults to pre-schoolers, Shaun the Sheep and Wallace and Gromit, one of the best-loved children’s tv series from the UK, work and – for good reason.  There are no dialogs, just short stories and stop motion animation.
As these claymation characters turn 30 this year, there will be special screenings starting on December 15, 2023, at Shinjuku’s Piccadilly cinema and other theaters.
For the uninitiated, Wallace and Gromit is a compilation of three award-winning short animated series: “A Grand Day Out,” “The Wrong Trousers,” and “A Close Shave.”  All three series center on Wallace, an eccentric inventor who loves cheese and Gromit his quiet and clever beagle. Both children and adults will appreciate the brilliant humor, special effects, and sequences full of action and adventure.

Wallace and Gromit: A Close Shave (1995)

Shaun the Sheep, its spin-off version is about a curious young sheep who delights in adventure and likes to lead his flock into all sorts of mischief. When the farmer is around, Shaun gives him no reason to suspect that Shaun does things other than being an obedient follower of the herd. But the minute the man turns his back, the resourceful young sheep is off in pursuit of adventure and fun. There was a scene where the animals behaved naughtily playing football with a cabbage and making a mess of the farmer’s house when he was away.  Often, it’s up to Bitzer, the loyal sheepdog,  to wrangle the flock and help Shaun clean up their mess before the man discovers all is not as it seems. But they always manage to make things right in the end.
