Elio, the upcoming American animated science fiction adventure film produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar Animation Studios, originally set for a spring 2024 release in Japan has been postponed to a soon-to-be-announced date.

On September 9, 2022, the new film that raises the question of whether everything humans have heard about aliens is true, was announced by Pixar at the 2022 D23 Expo Presentation.

The new film brings to focus a new Earth ambassador representing a young boy accidentally abducted by aliens when trying to call his scientist mother Olga who can decode alien messages.

The message was: “Bring us to your leader.”

Elio whom the aliens assume is the leader of Earth, plays along with it in order to save his life. He joins a grand council called Communiverse that represents all of space.  Jameela Jamil and Brad Garrett play intergalactic politicians as Ambassadors Questa and Grigonhe respectively.

In the United States, the movie’s  release originally set on March 1, 2024 appears to be headed for a June 13, 2025 date which means Japan’s release could be days or weeks later.
