In its active quest for ideas in delivering the cars of the future for a better mobility system, Japanese giant car maker Toyota believes it’s important to include today’s children and future end-users in the imagineering process.
Every year, Toyota invites entries from children of all ages to dream of the perfect car and bring them to life through a drawing competition.
The 17th Toyota Dream Car Art Contest held once a year and open to children all over the world is currently searching for entries from those living in Japan. There are 3 age categories: Under 8s, 8-11s, 12-15s from which 9 winners will be announced in March 2024. Both individual and group are eligible to enter the contest. Prize ranges from art book or telescopic camera for the individual winner and iPad 64 GB wifi model or mobile projector for the group winner.
The Dream Car Competition is held at both national and international levels.
The top winner in Japan will be eligible to compete at the World Dream Art Contest to be held in August 2024. The special grand winner will receive 5,000 USD and the runner up wins 3,000 USD.
The 2023 Dream Car Competition global winner in the 8-11 category was 10-year-old Nigerian boy Oluwademilade Odumuboni after beating 782,852 other contestants from 90 countries.

Odumuboni’s winning entry was a waste compactor vehicle (converter) with the concept of helping countries, especially African communities, in food production and ensuring a clean environment.
