Forest Park in Mount Fuji offers thrills and fun

By on May 6, 2023

After completing renovation and expansion works at Forest Adventures’s Mount Fuji location, the outdoor park is back in business.

Unleash your more adventurous side and head out to the woods for trekking, zip lining and camping!

The Yamanashi town-owned 1,100-meter-high natural forest filled with red pine and karamatsu trees, offers 91 kinds of fun trekking activities, 11 zones plus 4 others on a separate camp site.

The aerial side of the park offers canopy or zip lining courses wildly popular among families with small kids. For acrophobic campers, there’s no cause for worry.  The courses offered here are tailored to an individual’s age, height and weight by design. The kids-appropriate courses are lowest to the ground and even though each section can be challenging, the cables are close enough to grab hold even if you’re just three feet tall.

The course requires flexibility, agility and strength so in order to take the zip course, one must be at least 6 years old, 110 cm tall and weigh no more than 100 kg. Zip lining fees are available in 60 minutes (3,000 yen), 90 minutes (4,000 yen) and 120 minutes’ (5,000 yen).

At Komorebi campsite, kids can hang loose and get close to nature. It is power-ready making it convenient for weekend getaways.

For families traveling with pets, the Hidamari area would be perfect. It offers more space (around 100 square meters) and comes with a shower room, ample water supply, (water heater) and Wifi. It is surrounded by a few trees and ideal for stargazing at night. There’s just one caveat –  there are only 9 slots. While it’s a bit easier to book now than it might have been before the Golden Week, it is still one of the most difficult reservations to score.
