Meta VR Headset Project Cambria with eye-tracking sensor revealed by Zuckerberg

By on August 27, 2022

“The next device coming in October has some cool features.” Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said at a guest appearance on the August 25th episode of the popular podcast “The Joe Rogan Experience.”

Zuckerberg also said that his company’s new virtual reality headset, called Project Cambria, will come out in October and that other details will be revealed at META’s Connect event.

An avid fan of the Oculus hardware, Joe Rogan said the high end VR headset “would track his eyes and facial movements that would then show up on his avatar,” a feature Zuckerberg called, “social presence” – that would convey nonverbal communication such as eye contact, frown or smile in real time avatar style.

The schedule for Connect 2022 has not yet been announced, but it is held in October every year.
