Eggslut releases egg-citing summer-only sandwiches

By on July 11, 2022

Los Angeles cult favorite Eggslut, famous for its hefty sandwich portions, will be releasing egg-citing menu for the summer season from July 20 until August 31, 2022.

Born in Venice Beach, Los Angeles, Eggslut grew from strength to strength as it went from being a food truck to a casual diner in a short span of time. Offering egg-centric breakfast staples with an innovative appeal, it has become a favorite hangout of LA celebrities. Today, the place has overseas stores in the UK, Korea, Singapore and Japan.

Although its signature bun, Fairfax, with fluffy scrambled egg filling, thick cheddar cheese drizzled with sriracha mayonnaise has created a steadily increasing following in Tokyo, the menu doesn’t start and end with eggs alone at this innovative sandwich joint.

This season, it is taking eggs to a more gourmet level by combining Japan’s high quality free-range eggs and its much-loved summer delicacy, unagi (eel). Three of its seven most sought-after original sandwich creations will be offered exclusively at its Shinjuku Southern Terrace and Shibuya Miyashita Park stores during the period.

This is the Special UnaTama (Eel+Scrambled Egg) sandwich on their menu that includes a full size unagi fillet brushed in teriyaki sauce with two layers of eggs and comes with pickles and miso soup.  Price  3,058 yen (SPICY)

This tender, melt-in-your mouth half-size eel with scrambled egg and butter may sound tempting enough but Gooda cheese and mayonnaise add zing to the fish-egg tandem. Nami UnaTama (Regular) Price  2,178 yen

Jou UnaTama  Price  3,058 yen  (Yuzu lime and spice flavor)
