A recent video posted on social media about a vaginal sponge created by an American start-up,  has created a buzz on the Internet.

Known as Dripstick, the newly invented sponge intended to absorb semen after sex, prevents leaks.

An American housewife raves about its usefulness.

“This is my second order. I love these things. No one likes to talk about the clean up after sex, but my husband and I have always been so open about it and he knows I cannot just roll over and go to sleep after sex. And then the next day trickle out? Ew. These have made cleanup a breeze and the following day nice and dry. Thanks for a clever and seriously amazing product.”

The product’s aptly named official Instagram account, Awkward Essentials seems to have grown its followers since the video was last posted on Tiktok. It has dedicated “Wellness Wednesday” for webinars to educate people about the hygiene product. Its recent post reads,  “If you spend enough time on social media, it quickly becomes obvious that we didn’t all receive the same health class education, and we want to change that!”

Will this catch on in Japan where all things new and practical attract a lot of hype?
