What? No Milo? Nestlé temporarily halts sales of Milo in Japan.

By on December 10, 2020

My family is devastated over the news that Nestlé’s Milo chocolate drink has temporarily suspended sales in Japan. “First it was sanitizing gels and masks, now Milo? That’s going to be devastating for our tiny tot!” rants my wife. I’m certain many families feel the same way.

Nestlé Japan announced on December 8 that it was having difficulties providing a stable supply so it decided to suspend sales of Milo in 240g, 700g and stick packs.

After the news went viral, Milo started flying off the shelves in supermarkets according to Mainichi newspaper. Milo’s ingredients are imported from Singapore and the sales interruption was mainly due to the company being unable to meet the surge in demand.

But fret not, the chocolate drink is expected to hit store shelves again after March 2021.

Milo first appeared in Japan in 1973 and has became popular with kids since. Health-conscious parents approve because the malt drink is fortified with calcium, vitamin D, iron, and etc.
