Tokyo’s newest theme park, SMALL WORLDS TOKYO  officially opens on June 11, 2020, Thursday after being postponed for six weeks due to coronavirus pandemic.

Tokyo will feature miniature figures, Asian and European towns and cities in a 1900s setting including a working airport. As part of its safety measures, thermo cameras and 3D scanners will be installed at the entrance to keep track of customers’ health condition when they arrive.  Social distancing will be enforced through red lights reflected on the floor.

One of the largest indoor theme parks in the world to open during a pandemic, the 8,000-sqm space is divided into 4 levels with 6 theme zones: Kansai International Airport, Space Center, Global Village, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, Kansai International Airport, and two anime exhibitions – Neon Genesis Evangelion and Cage and Tokyo-III.

What’s unique about the place is that visitors can have a miniature replica of themselves 1:80 of their size and can be placed inside the airport or in non-anime zones as a resident for one year. Be warned – it will cost high school-age students 12,630 yen and 10,760 yen for younger kids. Having 2 miniature replicas will set high schoolers back ¥19,800 and those younger, ¥17,600. The price covers an admission pass valid for a year.
