Yokohama lights up 500,000 leds this year.

For three straight months starting from Nov 14, Yokohama’s Minatomirai will outshine every small city in the area with a light production that stretches from Yokohama Station’s East Exit to Sakura street.

500,000 LED string lights in blue, champagne gold, white, warm white, and about 60 stage lights attempt to highlight a fantastic night view of the harbor by strategically illuminating the Art Plaza connecting Yokohama Museum of Art to Minato Mirai.

As if that’s not enough to get everyone in the holiday spirit, a touch-sensitive street piano surrounded by light arches will be also be installed at the Romantic Square to bring cheers to loved up couples as well as the lonely hearts.

What:  “Yokohamami Light: A City of Light that Illuminates Mirai”
When: November 14, 2019 (Thursday) to February 16, 2020 (Sunday)
From 16:00 to 23:00 (“Sakura street” until 22:00)
Where: Each area connecting Yokohama Landmark Tower, Dockyard Garden, Sakura-dori from the east exit of Yokohama Station
Illuminated balls: about 500,000 (blue, champagne gold, white, warm white)
