Support Tokyo’s important literary resource

By on September 4, 2019

The sharp increase of people buying and selling books online has had an impact on the number of traditional bookstores catering to the needs of the expat community in Japan. It wasn’t long ago when Good Day Books, Richard’s Books, Second Story and Blue Parrot all called it quits to the dismay of Tokyo’s reading community.

Fortunately, an avid book collector (and former British Pub co-owner), Nick Ward crossed paths with a like-minded collector which led to the opening of his first book shop.

Infinity Books and Events Space located just a 5-minute walk from Asakusa Subway station, carries all genres from general fiction to nonfiction ie. the sciences, children’s books, biographies, travel books and etc…

Asked how he keeps the business going, Nick answers, “Diversity.”

“Not only do we have bricks and mortar bookshop but our whole inventory is online and we sell through various outlets such as Amazon, ABE, etc… We also host events on the weekends and I also teach English a few days a week.”
