Anime-inspired gelateria opens in Harajuku

If you happen to be in the Takeshita dori side of Harajuku and notice a long queue, chances are it’s EISWELT GELATO.

The newly opened anime-inspired gelato shop with a German name (meaning ICEWORLD) is from Huntington Beach, California.  It’s the first of its kind anime-inspired ice cream that will put a smile on anyone’s face. 

Twenty-three-year-old Vietnamese owner Vivi Hoang, who moved to California when she was 12 years old studied gelato-making in Italy at age 19 and spent most of her early childhood in Germany.  She opened the first shop in California in 2015.  EISWELT GELATO  Tokyo sells 25 gelato flavours of which 11 are seasonal.  In addition, there are also Japan-exclusive flavours to try.
