Overlooking the sea at Shichirigahama is possibly the ‘in’ place for beachcombers and baby strollers. We are fortunate that Bill Granger, the man behind Bills and its famed scrambled eggs has chosen to open his first overseas venture down on the beach in Kamakura. The cool, laid back, Sydney chic interior is the perfect place for unwinding.

There are high chairs and the kids can look out to sea whilst you woof down a second helping. Bill has gone out of his way to make the ‘ordinary’ perfect. How can something so simple warrant all this attention? We are talking eggs after all but it must be said these eggs are pretty damn good: light, fluffy, melt-in-the-mouth!

What more do you need to know? If you are ready for a sweltering day on the beach safe in the knowledge that you can keep your ‘street cred’ with your foodie friends back home, then “Bills” beckons.
