Jidouyuen

Jidouyuen, located in Meiji Jingu’s outer garden, is sometimes mistakenly called Hyakuen Park by foreigners. It is very inexpensive (Y200 for adults, Y50 for children), and has four big gym type playgrounds for different age levels: toddler, over age 3, over 4, and more challenging equipment for the school age child. Kids as old as age 10 will be entertained, and also get great exercise. The big wide slides are innovative and a lot of fun.

Jidouyuen is the perfect spot for a picnic, offering either small log houses with tables, or a very large green area to put out your mat. This playground offers a lot of potential for creative play, because it is set in a very natural woodsy setting, with a waterfall and interesting climbing paths to the tops of slides. Pack you picnic, and head to the park!
