Look: A new family roller coaster opens at Super Nintendo World next year

By on December 7, 2023

Mine-Cart Madness™, the first-of-its-kind family roller coaster and part of  SUPER NINTENDO WORLD™ expansion at Universal Studios Japan, will be open to the public in the spring of 2024 .

As families ride Mine-Cart Madness™, they will speed through the rickety mine and perform stunts (like jumping over broken track pieces) straight out of the games.

Billed as a ‘gamechanger’, the new roller coaster ride will be part of Donkey Kong Country, the newly expanded zone at Super Nintendo World.

The description of the ride by Universal Studios Japan’s website reads:

The fun starts when you get blasted out of a barrel cannon at the Golden Temple! Hop into a mine cart and go for a thrilling ride through the jungle! You’ll even leap across a collapsed track! This series of unpredictable thrills will make you scream with excitement! Join Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong in this race through the jungle on a wild adventure to protect the Golden Banana from the Tiki Tak Tribe!

An array of Donkey Kong-themed novelty items are already on sale at the theme park ahead of the opening. They are now available at One-Up Factory (Super Nintendo World), Universal Studio Store and California Confectionery.

Check out the Donkey Kong store here.
