Individuals with college degrees continue to get job offers in Japan

The latest report from Japan’s Labor Ministry shows that individuals with a college degree continue to get jobs faster than those with lesser levels of education.

By spring next year, nearly 75% of university students set to graduate have already found jobs.

The 74.8 percent of those offered jobs in October shows a marked improvement by 0.7 percent from the previous year, viewed as an increased hiring interest by companies.

There are 807 universities in Japan as of May 2023 where almost three million students were enrolled in 2022.

By gender, the job offer rate for male university students has increased by 1.2 points (73.9%) from 2022 and 0.1 for (75.8%) for female students.
