Inspired by Studio Ghibli’s animation film, the Princess Momonoke area unveiled to the press at Ghibli Park on Wednesday, opens to the public on November 1.

The Momonoke Village within the Ghibli facility brings the world of Ghibli films to life featuring the iconic forests of “satoyama” village in Japan.

The new area features a 3.4-meter slide of Lord Okkoto, a boar god that appears in the Princess Mononoke film including a statue of Demon Spirit, a character in the film that lives in a forest.

Park visitors will be able to enjoy making gohei mochi rice cake, a local specialty in the region.

Purchasing a combo admission ticket in advance allows visitors access to both the new area and Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse, the park’s main area.  A ticket costs 2,500 yen per adult on weekdays and 3,000 yen on weekends.
