2023 Christmas Market at the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse

Yokohama’s Red Brick warehouse (Akarenga), the family’s favorite festive destination every holiday season, is gearing up for its 14th German style Christmas market.

This year marks the return of the 50-meter high illumination roof after a four-year hiatus, guaranteed to get everyone in the Christmas mood.

Around 50 elaborately decorated German wooden huts (food, drinks, goods) with twinkling lights will spread cheers and offer magical moments starting from the 24th of November through to Christmas Day.

Guests will be greeted for the first time by a real holiday fir tree with a height of about 10 meters (approx 33 feet).

If the outdoor gets chilly, stay at  the premium lounge, a private room space for rent at designated buildings nearby.

Period: November 24, 2023 (Friday) – December 25, 2023 (Monday) for a total of 32 days

Time: November 24 (Fri) 17:00-21:00 (Lighting ceremony scheduled on the first day)
November 25 (Sat) – December 8 (Fri) 11:00 – 21:00
December 9 (Sat) – December 25 (Mon) 11:00 – 22:00

Where: Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse Event Square, Red Brick Park
1-1 Shinko, Naka-ku, Yokohama-shi, Kanagawa Prefecture)

How to get there –

  • 6-minute walk from Bashamichi Station and Nihon Odori Station on the Minatomirai Line
  • 15-minute walk from Kannai Station and “Sakuragicho” Station on the JR Keihin Tohoku/Negishi Line/Yokohama Municipal Subway Blue Line

Admission fee:

500 yen (elementary school-aged students and younger get in free. Must be accompanied by a parent or guardian)

300 yen only with Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse Event Official App membership

Admission to the illumination garden is free.
