Renoir and modern art, collections from the Musée du Petit Palais i Genève

By on July 21, 2022

The Petit Palais in Geneva, Switzerland, owns a rich collection of modern French paintings dating back from the late 19th to the early 20th centuries.

These were collections by the late Oscar Ghez, a businessman and avid art collector who first  opened these for public viewing in 1968 at the elegant Petit Palais.

After Ghez’s death, the Petit Palais has remained closed.

For the first time in 39 years, only curated artworks from Ghez’s  collection will be seen in Japan courtesy of the Petit Palais of Geneva, Switzerland.

This exhibition will introduce the flow of modern French painting from Impressionism to Neo-Impressionism, Les Nabis, Fauvism, Cubism, and École de Paris (School of Paris), with a substantial lineup of 65 oil paintings by 38 iconic artists.
