Naked Summer Festival 2022 in Kyoto starts this month.

Kyoto’s upcoming  “Naked Summer Festival” offers a month-long digital art experience from July 22 until Aug. 21, 2022.

With the reopening of Japan’s borders to selected tourists, the event to be held at the Nijo Castle, one of Japan’s World Heritage sites, hopes to attract more tourists this summer.

Step into famous historical buildings as they come to life around you, as well as a virtual fireworks and Bon dance festival.

Date: July 22nd (Friday) -August 21st (Sunday), 2022

Event duration: 18: 30-22: 00 (Last entry: 21:00)

Venue: Former Rikyu Nijo Castle

Admission tickets: 

[Monday-Thursday]  Junior high school students and above –  1,000 yen,      elementary school students – 600 yen

[Friday, Saturday, Sunday and public holidays]   Junior high school students and above – 1,400 yen, elementary school students – 1,000 yen

* Preschoolers get in free.

* Discount tickets for persons with disabilities are available (for people with physical disabilities certificate, nursing certificate, war injury certificate, A-bomb survivor health certificate, mental disability health and welfare certificate, etc., and up to one caregiver. Present the above certificate at the ticket gate.)
