Fan or not, square-toe shoes are back, mommies!

Square-toe footwear goes far back to 300 A.D. Japan.

Japan’s  geta, a type of sandal made of wood and elevated several inches from the ground, is traditionally worn with kimono.

We thought this style has died a natural death but someone must have prayed to the fashion gods. The shoes that make our feet look wide and bulky are making a comeback!

MSGM, a fashion brand for men and women by Italian designer Massimo Giorgetti, unveiled its fall-winter collection for women on Feb 22, 2020 and is bringing back the square-toe shoes.

Massimo describes his indie-style streetwear as  classic, elegant and feminine. He creates a brand new pattern by combining a kaleidoscope of colors, shapes, and lines paired with square-toe shoes and socks.

For many people in Japan, the square-toe shoes still hold “natsukashi” (nostalgic) appeal and remind them of the ’90s when almost every store in town was selling them.
