At 60, Mr. Paddington gets his own theme park

By on July 20, 2018

British author Michael Bond first introduced Mr. Paddington, the iconic marmalade-eating Peruvian bear,  in his 1958 book.

Years later, it has become a much loved fictional character in children’s English literature.

The friendly bear known for his  polite demeanor rarely addresses people by their first names but only with a ‘Mr.’ or ‘Ms.’.  This resonates with Japan’s culture of politeness and formality so parents generally regard the bear as a good role model for their children.

With Paddington Bear turning 60 this year, Sagamiko Pleasure Forest officially opens on July 21st, the first PADDINGTON TOWN, a theme park named after the hugely popular bear.

Paddington Town has fun rides for young children.
