Japan’s Sylvanian Park Opens July 14

By on June 5, 2018

Sylvanian Park, named after  a fictional village in Great Britain in the 50s, opens to the public on July 14, (soft launch on June 23).

Not known to many, Sylvanian families, a brand of bunny toys and figurines in multi-story play houses, was created by Epoch, a Japanese gaming company in 1985.  Three years later after becoming a family TV series,  Sylvanian families dominated living rooms in the United States and the U.K.

The new 3,300-sqm theme park is a reproduction of  Sylvania, a fictional village where  rural middle class families live.  It will be  surrounded by Syracia Lake, Seseragi River,  including large playhouses with red roofs, family cottages and ball pools. Children will have fun changing costumes of “chocolate bunny girl” or “walnut squirrel”, its famous characters at the playhouses.

On the opening day, the park has lined up fun programs for families to enjoy but as the month and season change, so too will the activities.
