The seven-seat family hatchback

When TESLA, an American company that builds and sells electric-powered cars, came out with its Tesla Roadster, a BEV (battery electric vehicle) sports car in 2008, it created a buzz in the motor vehicle industry worldwide.
A decade ago, not many people would have known about this startup from Palo Alto.

Tesla’s Model S, a 5-door sedan that scored a perfect 5.0 NHTSA automobile safety rating in the U.S., is equipped with an 85-kWh battery pack good for up to 426 km distance and now leads the electric car market.
It has a body larger than regular Japan-made cars that makes the passenger seats both front and rear, really spacious and comfortable (especially for families) with staggering performance rating to boot.

The rear-mounted motor gets Tesla Model S P85D performance designation, raising it to 464bhp, and with the from wheels offering an additional 218 bhp, you suddenly end up with a decent seven-seat family hatchback with a combined output of 682 bhp and 687 lb. ft.

On the dashboard is a 17-inch display with some cool features that include a built-in SM, AM/FM 3-G enabled internet radio service, a turn-by-turn navigation mapping interface that remembers your favorite places, a browser, camera, phone (via Bluethooth), and seat height adjustment. But above all, the engine is super quiet with no audible engine roar. When you feel like driving insanely fast, just slide the car into its appropriately called ‘insane’ mode. (I’m not joking.)
