New AI-powered online grocery promises to save you time and ease your shopping experience.

Amazon is beloved by families, and for good reason. It saves them time.

According to research, the average time people spend grocery shopping per year is between 70-75 hours.

In a letter to shareholders, Amazon’s founder Jeff Bezos once wrote that Amazon delivery services ‘saves people more than 75 hours a year’.  That was made possible by using Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications across its eCommerce platform.

Japan’s largest retail group Aeon has followed suit. This summer, Aeon will be launching Green Beans by Aeon, an online marketplace where customers can buy a wide range of products from fresh food to daily essentials.

Shoppers can have them delivered right to their doorsteps on dates and time (between 7am – 11pm) they set.  The delivery fees are fixed at 330 yen, 440 yen and 550 yen, depending on the time chosen.

Instead of having to store-hop for items not available in one store, a single click into an item at Green Beans will automatically recommend similar products based on your buying history. So instead of customers having a few choices of pasta or coffee, a shopper can explore other brands too making shopping experience simple and convenient.

If a shopper runs into an issue, the customer service will be available for questions everyday, from 6:30 am until 11:30 pm.

Initially, the delivery service will cover the following areas in Tokyo but Aeon hopes to expand to other areas in the future.

Tokyo:    Shinjuku Ward, Shibuya Ward, Meguro Ward, Setagaya Ward,Chuo Ward, Chiyoda Ward, Shinagawa Ward, Minato Ward,
Ota Ward, Koto Ward, Edogawa Ward
Chiba City:     Chiba Prefecture (Inage Ward, Chuo Ward, Hanamigawa Ward, Midori Ward, Mihama Ward, Wakaba Ward, Narashino City, Funabashi City, Ichikawa City, Urayasu City, Yachiyo City and Yotsukaido City
Kawasaki City: Kanagawa Prefecture (Aso Ward, Kawasaki Ward, Saiwai Ward,Takatsu Ward, Tama Ward, Nakahara Ward, Miyamae Ward
