Bus operators: No need to fold twin strollers to hop into a Toei bus.

A blog by former Japanese national team volleyball player Kana Oyama telling her followers the pains of using Toei Bus services with her twins, created quite a stir among other concerned parents.
The growing reluctance to take the bus by those with multiple babies prompted Toei to issue a statement to ease their fears.
Toei said ‘there is no need to fold twin baby strollers in order to board its city bus’.  They can simply hop in with babies in strollers. But to do this takes some practice.
So on Dec. 20, the Tokyo metropolitan government’s Bureau of Transportation invited guardians with twins to practice procedures for how to take an unfolded twin stroller with babies in and out of the bus.
In June 2021, Toei Bus created a user’s guide made for passengers using twin strollers.  According to the guide, such passengers are supposed to tell the bus driver that they will be boarding from the central door of the bus.

The bus driver or staff will secure a space on the bus by folding up seats so that the user can pull over his or her twin stroller and lock it to a handrail with belts, for security.
