At 5 p.m. Tuesday, the Japanese yen has gone nearly 4% low this month and traded around the 138.50 level too close to a 24-year 140 yen level.

Nouriel Roubini, Professor Emeritus of Economics at New York University, predicts a further 10% decline in the yen would be enough to trigger a change in policy by the Bank of Japan.

The US dollar stood at 138.45-45 yen, down from 138.70-70 yen at the same time Monday. The euro was at 1.0028-0029 dollars, up from 0.9943-9943 dollars, and at 138.83-90 yen, up from 137.91-98 yen.
