New Covid cases are up again this week.

Japan is again experiencing a slight increase in new Covid cases this week.

On Monday, Japan’s new case count is up by some 280 from a week before. There are 30,157 new coronavirus infection cases last week.

On Sunday, the number of severely ill COVID-19 patients dropped from 510  to 505, while 45 new deaths were confirmed among infected people.

In Tokyo, 4,384 new infection cases were reported, down by 160 compared to the previous week and seven new deaths.

The number of Covid patients experiencing severe symptoms under the metropolitan government’s criteria, slightly fell from 32 to 29 as of Sunday’s report.

This brings the seven-day average of new infections at 7,607.4, or an increase by 15.9 percent from the previous week’s records.
