Japan gets ready for mass vaccination of children aged 5-11

By on February 7, 2022

Municipalities across Japan are rushing to prepare COVID-19 vaccinations for children aged between 5 and 11, scheduled to begin in March.

Vaccines for children aged 5 to 11 differ from those in the 12 or older group in terms of dosage,  preservation period and thawing time. Vaccine vials for children have orange caps while those for adults have purple caps.

The city of Fukushima in northeastern Japan is partnering with five nearby municipalities to conduct mass inoculations at a gymnasium in the city to cover about 19,500 children.
