A recent survey conducted by Japan’s Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Co. reveals that a number of people in Japan particularly child-rearing women, are feeling stress during the pandemic.

The online survey held from July 14-27 involved 5,640 people from 20-79 years old.

In the health questionnaire, 71.3 percent of female respondents said that they are feeling stressed amid the coronavirus crisis. In contrast, the percentage is only 59.2 percent in men. As high as 73.8 percent of moms said they are under stress.

A majority of moms (69.8 percent) attribute their stress to not being able to go out while 59 percent to reduced opportunities for social outings to see friends,  making them feel on edge.
