Super Nintendo World, the world’s first theme park will open in the first quarter of 2020 ahead of the Tokyo Olympics.

The first of the two-phase development at the Universal Studios Japan in Osaka will feature two rides:  Super Mario Kart and Yoshi’s Adventures as well as shops, restaurants and interactive zones.

Magnetic wristbands will be given to the visitors upon admission. These cool wristbands will automatically allow visitors to interact with different game consoles and track scores on rides.

Further details on the park’s additional attractions have not yet been announced.  All we can say for now is that Nintendo’s creative team led by Shigeru Miyamoto, creator of Mario and many of Nintendo’s popular works, including The Legend of Zelda, is collaborating with Universal Studios’ creative group to create a fun, immersive experience using the latest technology.

The Mario and Donkey Kong-themed area is currently under construction at Universal Studios Osaka. Universal Studios Hollywood, Orlando and Singapore will also open Super Nintendo World areas in the future.
