A new massage device that mimics shiatsu pressure

Sitting for long periods using devices, poor posture and incorrect sleeping positions, or injuries are today’s leading causes of stiff neck and shoulders.

An increasing number of people in Japan are turning to shiatsu treatments for muscle pain relief.  Shiatsu massage, a form of acupressure that works on pressure points, is believed to be effective in releasing blockages to the flow of “chi” and restoring energy. The Japanese also believe that it is great for treating headaches, sleep disturbances, stress, and pregnancy discomfort.

“Neck Pot”, a new massage device that mimics manual shiatsu pressure will treat stiff neck and shoulders caused by prolonged use of smartphone, long deskwork hours, or long distance driving.

One cycle lasts 10 minutes of acupressure and stretching to stimulate blood circulation around the neck, shoulder, and back of the head. The idea behind owning one is to have a device at your beck and call without having to make an appointment with a shiatsu sensei.  The product will be available at a proposed retail price of ¥8,720 after its crowdfunding on Dec. 23, 2019. A 15% off (¥6,970) is available to all supporters of its crowfunding project.
