This pawfect restaurant pampers pets with a new canine menu.

Some foreign pet owners are under the false impression that Japan doesn’t have dog-friendly restaurants.

That’s not true.  Japan’s omotenashi (hospitality) applies not only to humans but animals as well.  In fact, Japan’s market size for pet-related businesses is approximately worth 1.54 trillion Japanese yen and continues to thrive despite the economic downturn.

USHI SUKE, a  YAKINIKU (grilled meat) restaurant run by K.K. WITH PET FAMILY (formerly K.K. Upstream) has seven restaurants in and around Tokyo that welcome your canine companions.  Yoshida Tatsuya, the company president and the man behind the concept says, “We consider pets as family members. Our mission is to create and provide venues where handlers and dogs can freely hang out and dine together.”

Now 20 years after its first store opened, Ushi Suke has successfully attracted a unique clientele – families whose four-legged member goes wherever they go.  These families are willing to pay for a few extra yen to get a decent doggie meal (not table scraps) for their beloved furry pooch.

To the delight of dog owners, Ushi Suke’s seven stores will be offering a healthy burger (¥580) option available for a fixed period from September 19 – October 31, 2018.

The dog menu is carefully planned with a veterinarian using natural yeast bread and local beef. 

So if you want to go and eat a meal with your beloved pet in tow,  then this is the PAWfect place to go.
