Many parents all around the world embrace video games as an accepted family pastime. Why wouldn’t they?

Life can be a drag without fun. Besides, playing a challenging and difficult game is in itself, an opportunity to learn, strategize and master the art of winning. Many of children’s favorite games require learning from their mistakes, maintaining focus in order not to be beaten by their opponent. It also fosters teaming up with friends to overcome frustration.

However, how Japanese and American gamers pick their favorite games is different, though. In America, you can rent nearly any new-release title from a rental store or online services such as GameFly and have it delivered to your door. In Japan,, rental of video game is strictly prohibited due to its 1984 Copyright Law.

In the coming weeks and months, gamers will be spoilt for choice as some of the most entertaining titles hit the market and dominate the world’s living rooms.

So kick back, relax and look out for these titles – because, well, we all need some family fun.
