The Australian government said Monday it will relax border restrictions to travelers from safe travel zones which include Japan, South Korea, Singapore and New Zealand as long as they have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

From 1 December, fully vaccinated eligible visa holders can travel to Australia without needing to apply for a travel exemption.

Travelers need to hold a valid Australian visa and present a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within three days prior to flying.

Eligible visa holders including skilled workers and international students are covered under the relaxed restrictions..

More than 80% of Australians are now fully vaccinated.
