Plaza Akasaka Nandemo: Indoor Play Space free for kids and teens
With the cost of living in Tokyo being arguably high, no one could blame you for thinking that all indoor playgrounds charge admission fees. Except that a number of government-run play spaces like the Plaza Akasaka Nandemo generally do not.
Plaza Akasaka Nandemo boasts of having practically everything that warms the hearts of playful kids. We explored the indoor playground and realized they were not lying. Located in Akasaka, Minato ward, this multifaceted facility has everything for children ages 0-18 and their guardians or caretakers.
Here are just some of what you will find inside.
Children’s Playroom for children aged 0-6 years
For older kids and teens
Music Studio where teen bands can rehearse
Large gym with kick-ball, ping-pong, trampoline, unicycles, basketball, and ride-on toys for the little ones
For foreign parents and kids, playing here is a great way to meet new friends and mingle with Japanese families. Nandemo is truly a kids-to-teens hall with something for every age and interests. Its Japanese-English calendar lists activities for upcoming months to inform parents of events their children will want to go. The ‘WaiWai Sport Club,’ a gym class for children aged 3-6 held every Thursday, which is free. Also of note are the Rice Making and Okonomiyaki cooking classes for moms or dads.
