DRAGON BOAT RACE
4,000 boat racers from 200 teams around the world compete in the exciting Dragon Boat Race (boats shaped like dragons) at the Yamashita Park Seaborne Area. Each boat has a team of 15 - 20 racers. Pumped up spectators can enjoy great food and cold beer at food stands whilst stage performances by brass bands add to the excitement. May 27, 28, June 3, 4. http://www.yokohama-dragon.com/

If you go on June 3rd, stay late and move over to Minato Mirai for some electrifying Hanabi action. As Yokohama celebrates its 36th Yokohama Port Opening Festival, 4,000 different fireworks will be set off by Japan’s best pyrotechnicians.
