The season of Japan’s pink petals is upon us. Thanks to the unfailing accuracy of the Japan Weather Association. Everyone who’s been here long enough know the annual drill. Dust off the blue sheets, take out the mega watt sound systems and prepare the bentos in advance. Except that not everyone has time to do so.

If that’s the case, don’t worry. These places have your back. All you have to do is to secure a spot, be there and your food delivery will pop up with your food in no time.

Be warned: Ordering food delivery to a park needs some conversation in Japanese. But if you can’t handle that, Dominos Pizza or Maishoku (www.maishoku.com) will happily take your order.

Although almost everyone in Japan go for Hanami in the daytime, nothing beats cherry blossom viewing at night. Ueno Park, Aoyama cemetery, the Imperial Palace, Ichigaya, Shinjuku Gyoen all offer amazing views.

Certain areas tract the rowdier crowd with their beer and cardboard boxes whilst others attract the champagne and canape fanatics. A good hanami should include a smathering of both. Happy Hanami!
