Tokyo Mitsubishi UFJ banking rules change
If, at the end of the year, you find yourself complaining that you don’t have enough money as projected at the start of the year, you might want to review the bank charges taken out of your account when you use ATM machines in Japan.
Tokyo Mitsubishi UFJ bank has announced a few welcome and not-so-welcome changes concerning bank charges and ATM hours, to take effect from Dec 2013.
Cash withdrawal
Current :
(Bank) When you get cash from an ATM machine, you are automatically charged a banking fee of 105 yen except during these hours: 8:45am - 6pm on weekdays. Bank charge applies only when you make cash withdrawals after 6pm on weekdays and ATM hours on Sat, Sun, and public holidays. (Convenience stores) No charge on weekdays from 8:45am - 6pm. Bank charge of 105 yen starts after 6pm on weekdays and all day on Sat, Sun and public holidays.
