Daimyo Gyoretsu, Hakone

This is Hakone’s largest Autumnal event, and is a re-enactment of the procession of a feudal lord. The parade runs a 6 km route, beginning at Yumoto Elementary School, and features approximately 170 performers marching, and 200 geishas dancing.

Sacred Heart International School Family Festival Hiroo

Annual festival featuring foods from around the world, crafts, games, musical performances, raffle, and vendors.

Cirque de Soleil’s Allegria 2, Olympic Plaza Yoyogi National Stadium

o Cirque de Soleil is a Canadian based company whose shows combine incredible acts, amazing costumes, fantastic sets, and original music.

Shichi-go-san

Shichi-go-san is a very popular day for shrine visits, celebrating children aged 3, 5 and 7 in appreciation of the good health given them by the guardian gods. One of the most popular Shichi-go-san spots in Tokyo is Hie Shrine in Akasaka, usually welcoming upwards of 2,000 families each year.

Disaster Awareness, The Tokyo American Club

o November 6th, from 4:00-7:00 p.m.

There will be a fire truck for the kids to climb on, an earthquake simulator, a smokehouse and more. Speakers will be presenting important information on a variety of topics.

Annual Christmas Bazaar, Saint Maur International School Yokohama

Come to enjoy home made cakes, games for children and look around the various vendors.

Deutsches House (D-House) Minami-Azabu

Tokyo is a temporary exhibit to showcase German culture. Located next to the German Embassy in Minami-Azabu, guests can sample German food, peruse German fashions, and learn about German sports - in anticipation for the 2006 FIFA World Cup, which will be held in Germany.

Chichibu Yomatsuri Chichibu

In the small town of Chichibu, near Tokyo, one of the top three float festival takes place each year. The highlight of this event is the evening parade, with huge illuminated floats making this nighttime festival a spectacular site to see. The floats are also used as stages where children perform Kabuki shows and dances. Don’t miss the fireworks!

Hagoita-ichi Asakusa

Another festival in Asakusa, this annual event at Sensoji Temple, celebrates the Hagoita, a racket used for a traditional game similar to badminton. Over fifty stalls appear at the temple for this event, selling decorated hagoita, which are now a popular home décor item. Over 300,000 people usually attend this popular festival.
