ANA Hotel logo used 1114ANA InterContinental Tokyo’s The Steakhouse where Wagyu reigns supreme, oozes style from its chic terrace-esque setting to its selection of quintessential steaks.

Meticulously selected and prepared by the finest connoisseurs in town, the restaurant is essentially the place to be for impeccable charcoal grilled, dry-aged Wagyu, New Zealand beef and grain-fed U.S. Black Angus beef, including high-grade Tuscan black pork shoulder steak. The house aims to please with its selection of dry-aged, grain-fed, grass-fed, BSE-free, halal-certified premium cuts. Dry-aged and grain fed meats have intense marbling that make Wagyu’s clever technique famous all over the world.

After ordering your preferred meat cut, make a sauce selection from seriously appetizing Bearnaise, Bordelaise red wine, green peppercorn, morel mushrooms, or chimichurri and pick a side dish for nutritional balance. If you don’t have time for dinner, pop by for lunch and try the signature Wagyu burger sandwiches including Hoagie on Oak (char-grilled rib eye). Not a carnivore? It’s hard to ignore the visually appealing Caesar Salad prepared before your very eyes topped with a choice between grilled prawns or home-cooked salmon. Grilled chicken for white meat eaters is also available.

As an exclusive family treat, the Steakhouse has an attractive package for 4 (2 adults + 2 children) for just 16,000 yen (tax and service charge included) plus a complimentary bottle of wine. Mention Steakhouse Family when you order. Adults get amuse bouche, salad provencal (greens, beans, eggs, and grilled fresh tuna), New Zealand fillet mignon, and Hokkaido mascarpone tiramisu as dessert. Kids get each a cheeseburger, fruit salad, ice cream and orange juice. (Offer valid until Dec. 14, 2014,subject to availability)

Andre Pachon copy When it comes to fancy, authentic, unpretentious, French cuisine, Restaurant Pachon Daikanyama undisputably leads the pack. Thanks to the ingenuity of André Pachon, its humble, masterclass chef and founder after whose name the restaurant was called, Provencale cuisine has earned a good reputation for exquisite-tasting Grande Cuisine Française in Japan. And not without good reason. His claim to fame arrived after a 4-year apprenticeship in Carcassonne under the tutelage of Marcel Aymeric, dubbed as the “King of Cassoulet”.  Cassoulet is a hearty casserole dish of goose, duck, mutton, pork and white haricots eaten in the South of France. Inspired by Pachon’s high respect for the man who taught him the nuts and bolts of a winning recipe, he introduced the same to Japan in the 70s with no change whatsoever from the original formula. That earned him a Michelin star in 2010 and later secured his place in Japan’s culinary map. André Pachon has appeared in many live TV shows and high-end magazines in Tokyo.

Pachon Daikanyama offers exciting gastronomic experience with well-thought out seasonal and standard menus ranging from La Fricassee de Homard (gourmet lobsters) to chimney-grilled Wagyu steaks, lamb racks and chops to name a few. Pachon’s menu is only in Japanese and French which perhaps explains why his name appears less in the English media. When visiting Pachon, always take a course meal and ask for Panaché de viande grillé à la cheminée.  As you taste each bite, you will agree that his 60 years in the trade does make a lot of difference.

Outback cropped logoWhat is good to eat at Outback? The short answer is ‘everything’.

Outback Steakhouse’s iconic American-style Prime Rib is undeniably the star of the show. It’s one of the reasons customers keep coming back. While standard food portions in Japan are generally small, Outback Steakhouse dares to be the opposite. Its generous cut of slow-roast, quality prime rib packed with bold flavors and all the essential proteins you want from red succulent steak will keep your hunger pangs at bay. The irresistible Prime Rib plate comes in three standard cuts: 250 g, 350 g and 450g to choose from, bathed in traditional au jus sauce that dazzles the taste buds. An order comes complete with side veggies and mash potato.Prime Rib is available at dinnertime on weekends.

Outback’s signature grilled-to-perfection steaks share the limelight with the Prime Rib for its smokey, bold flavor. For a satisfying experience, don’t start dinner without the Bloomin’ Onion, Outback’s popular appetizer made of golden, deep fried, battered onions paired perfectly with mayonnaise horseradish dip. Outback Steakhouse is a family-friendly restaurant.

L'Atelier_JR_logoMichelin-starred chef Joel Robuchon couldn’t have chosen a more clever colour motif for L’ATELIER de Joel Robuchon. It conveys what his restaurant in Roppongi Hills is about than bright red and black. Since time immemorial, the colour red has been known to get people more excited in food while black expresses an air of mystery. In a nutshell, L’Atelier Robuchon means great-tasting food with an x factor.

Unequivocally an artsy culinary workshop of lacquered countertops, polished granite flooring and mirrors, this casual diner is everything most traditional French restaurants are not: dimly-lit counter seating just like a sushi restaurant where each plate is handed to you one by one by a convivial culinary craftsman, ready to handle a mind-over-platter discussion with you.

Good taste, the agreeable texture and visually appealing presentation of meals served here is deeply rooted in Joel Robuchon’s appreciation of arts and pure faith in food. Visit with a surprise-me attitude, lean back and take a course meal to fully appreciate and experience the gastronomic delights the team of inspired creators offers from amuse (appetizers), plat principal (main dish) to dessert.

Diners have a choice between the standard course meal and A la carte  that allows them to pick a dish from the menu. The price of a course meal ranges from 1,950 yen to 6,600 yen for lunch and from 5,000 yen to 15,500 yen for dinner. The house’s superb meat dishes range from La Bavette, a tender wagyu steak with creamy mashed potatoes, Le Paillard, chicken breast slices pounded and grilled quickly at high heat served with salad and veggies, Le Canard Challandais , roasted duck with gravy and asparagus, L’entrecote, a rib eye steak with creamy mashed potatoes, and the most intriguingly delicious of them all – La Caille, a caramelized foie gras-stuffed duck served with mashed potatoes. It is truly a melt-in-your-mouth experience.
